With new snow the high rolling clearcuts of the Strayhorse area at Apex made wonderful skiing.

Mar 5 - Ski - razorback ridge

New powder snow, minus 6, no wind, brilliant sunshine: a perfect day to ski the top of Razorback Ridge.

Mar 1 - Ski - Lookout Mountain

Many panoramic vistas made more interesting by snow squalls on one of our more demanding ski tours. Fortunately snow and temps. were great.

Feb 16 - Ski - Stray horse

Beautiful sunny day with crisp snow, great views. Route was in the Strayhorse area west and north of the Nickle Plate Nordic club.

Feb 9 - Ski - Southern comfort and Deep south

Lots of snow along the "Southern Comfort", and the "Deep South" trails, south of Apex Mountain.

High Carmi climbing 2000 vertical to top ridges. Great downhill with excellent snow

Jan 19 - Ski south of apex

Good snow conditions allowed us to get south to the base of Razorback Ridge, but snow squalls from the west buffeted us on the way back.

Jan 12 - Strayhorse Trail

6 of us enjoyed the perfect powder snow, over clear cuts, long meadows, up and around to "No Name Lake" and Nickel Plate Lake.

Jan 5 - "Deep South" trail

Powder snow. Minus 6. Some sunshine. A great day of skiing.
