Jul 26: Hike - Glacier Crest (Glacier NP)

This was the first of three day-hikes on our annual summer hiking trip.  This year's destination was Glacier National Park in the Columbia Mountains east of Revelstoke.  The trip was organized by Trevor Gambell (many thanks).  There were about a dozen of us all told (although only about half our number went on to the second half of the trip - hiking in the Valhalllas west of Slocan Lake).  Our first hike followed steep trail ascending more than 3,000 feet to a rock crest that provided panoramic views all round, including the receding lip of the Illecillewaet Glacier on one side of the crest and the Asulkan Valley & Glacier on the other.
